WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“I rescued Indy at 8 months old and at 3 years old she tore her ACL and required surgery. As a rescue she had already overcome numerous fears and blossomed into the sweetest of companions - excited to play with other dogs, and walking miles a day with me. Post surgery, and after two months of recovery she emerged traumatized. Indy was fearful of going on walks and nervous to meet other dogs. She would put the ‘brakes’ on as soon as we headed down our street and refuse to go any further. She also became dog reactive while riding in the car. All firsts for her.

Through Indy’s surgery center I met Kristi Martin, a world-class animal behaviorist. I had no idea that animal behaviorists existed and how vastly different they are from dog trainers. On our very first meeting Kristi took in every word I shared about life pre-injury to post-surgery. Then she began to heal Indy - and me! Kristi gave me the tools to work with Indy, and I did, every single day. She recommended books to read. And, even though I had rescued four other dogs over the past 20 years and worked with trainers, it was Kristi who gave me new tools to help Indy through her trauma. It took using a combination of skills along with observation of her body language on our walks to get her to move forward and little by little Indy got moving! It took patience and time, and now we are back to walking miles a day. While still a little cautious about meeting some dogs I have the skills and knowledge to help Indy manage that too.

Every rescue is worth saving, and if you have a dog with a challenge - please don’t give up on them. They won’t give up on you. Reach out to Kristi Martin.”

“Kristi is absolutely amazing! My dog Burrell is a 3.5-year-old border collie, and he was dealing with anxiety for the past 1.5 years.  He would spend most of his days hiding under my bed, would no longer go for walks, was eating less, and was pretty much shut down socially.  I had trouble getting him to go outside to the bathroom and getting him the proper amount of exercise.  I was referred to Kristi by my Veterinarian and was hesitant as I’ve previously worked with two trainers who were unable to resolve his behavioral issues.

We had our initial consult and put Burrell on a medication program, and Kristi began working on a behavioral program.  It was magic, after only 1 or 2 sessions working with Kristi I began to get my dog back! He began to be more active, no longer hides under the bed, and can now even go for walks! I truly cannot thank Kristi enough for the work that she has done for us.  The change I’ve seen in Burrell is nothing short of a total transformation. I fully intend to call Kristi with all of my future dog training needs and HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is looking for training or behavior modification. THANK YOU, KRISTI!”
